Optometry Technician
or Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
Optometric assistants, also known as optometric technicians, optician assistant and paraoptometrics, are medical assistants who help optometrists and opticians in vision clinics. They are not the same as physician assistants, who are medical professionals that help doctors, such as ophthalmologists.
Salary:$30,590
Education:To become an optometrist assistant, you'll need to have at least completed your high school degree. Generally, on-the-job training is available for those seeking to begin a career as an optometrist assistant; however, a 1- or 2-year program in medical assisting at a vocational school or community college will improve your prospects in the field of optometry. Coursework in such a program includes medical office procedures, medical ethics, insurance coding and billing, and medical office software.

Reflection:I would like to be a Optometry because I would like to help people see better.
